CvilleBioHub is a nonprofit organization building a thriving life sciences ecosystem in Charlottesville and across Virginia. We work to ensure that promising scientific discoveries and biotech entrepreneurs have the resources, infrastructure, talent, and support they need to build successful companies and create economic and community impact here in Virginia.
Our work spans the full journey from innovation to company growth. We operate the Commonwealth BioAccelerator, providing early-stage life sciences companies with state-of-the-art laboratory and office space, shared scientific equipment, experienced advisors, and hands-on business support. We help entrepreneurs navigate the challenges of building biotech companies, including company formation, fundraising, product development, commercialization, and access to industry expertise and capital.
CvilleBioHub also develops the talent and community needed to sustain a growing life sciences industry. Through workforce initiatives, internships, mentorship, educational partnerships, networking programs, and industry events, we help students and professionals understand career opportunities in biotechnology and help companies find the talent they need to grow.
Beyond supporting individual companies, we actively build the infrastructure and partnerships that strengthen Virginia’s broader life sciences economy. We bring together entrepreneurs, researchers, universities, investors, industry leaders, government, and economic development partners to address gaps in the ecosystem and create new opportunities for growth.
